MEET YOUR FITTER

Jonathan Posner

Certified Retül and Trek Precision Fit bike fitter

Jonathan's fitting experience spans road cycling, triathlon and mountain biking. He began at Race Pace Bicycles in Columbia, helping build the primary fit studio and training under Don Freesland, then built and managed the Ellicott City fit studio as its primary fitter from 2014 to 2017.

He pairs traditional fitting principles with modern measurement tools, with a strong emphasis on rider feedback and a collaborative approach. A lifelong mountain biker, he understands the demands of off-road riding and the different goals every cyclist brings.

Outside the studio, Jonathan rides with his wife, Tracy, on the roads and trails around Patapsco Valley State Park, and has spent recent years launching and growing the Maryland Interscholastic Cycling League, a statewide youth cycling program.

HIS APPROACH

Every fit starts with the rider: a position that works for your body, your bike and the way you want to ride.

FAQ

Before you book

Who should get a bike fit?

Any rider who wants more comfort, power or confidence on the bike. A fit is especially valuable when you buy a new bike, change disciplines, add miles, return after time off, or ride with numbness, hot spots, or knee, back or neck discomfort.

Which fit is right for me?

The Comprehensive Dynamic Fit is our most complete assessment of every contact point. The Standard Performance Fit refines the bike you ride now. Cleat and Footbed Alignment focuses on your feet, knees and pedals. Past fit clients can book an Annual Follow-up or Second Bike fit.

What should I bring?

Your bike, cycling shoes, pedals and the kit you normally ride in. Bring any insoles or orthotics you use, and be ready to talk about your riding, your goals and any discomfort.

What kinds of bikes do you fit?

Road, triathlon, time trial, gravel and mountain bikes are all welcome.

Is a bike fit medical treatment?

No. A fit adjusts your bike and equipment to suit your body. It is not a medical diagnosis or treatment. If you are managing an injury or ongoing pain, please see your physician or physical therapist; your fitter is glad to work with their guidance.

Will I need new parts?

Sometimes. Your fitter may recommend a different saddle, stem, handlebar, cleats or footbeds. Recommendations are never required, and Syndicate Bike Shop can supply and install anything you choose.

What happens after my fit?

Your fit numbers are recorded so your position can be repeated on any bike. Most riders need a few rides to adapt. If something does not feel right, contact us.

How do payment and cancellations work?

Fits are paid in full when you book. One free reschedule is allowed with at least 7 days' notice. Cancellations receive a partial refund minus a fee based on notice, and no-shows receive no refund. Within 7 days of your appointment, email us. See the Fit Services Client Booking Terms for full details.
